It seems to be a great synergy build.

Shadow step + condition filled for energy gain.

Any good idea on what good high energy spike skills to fill it up for PvE?

Brutal Strike
at 15 BM it deals +35 and another +35 if they are below 50%

Thats the main pet-attack skill I use for spiking the last bit of health.

Not sure about pumping energy, but I found this build surprisingly effective. I like how SoA takes care of pet pathing (plus cripple helps them stay with target), and provide feeder condition for an immediate spear of fury, which then sets off your adren skills... another potentially useful thing is this makes your pet grab aggro very easily, and they can then tank with their built-in damage reduction and call of protection. This elite seems underrated for PvE spearmasters, particularly those that don't like to lock every single target.

Another way to take this might be Slayer's spear spam, high damage and deep wound every 4 seconds, with scav strike powering it. In theory you have raw power close to enraged lunge, except its easier to control your own spear than a pet, and you have that awesome pet teleportation going on....

Don't know if you've heard of the PiG guild, but this is their favourite build. Or one of them. Hamstorm, or something. Basically a spear ranger with Strike as One. I've heard they use it in elite areas with little to no trouble. There should be a hero version around somewhere that could be used based on Wenspire's team build.

Basically, Strike as One is all manner of awesome.

We've Hamstormed most of the elite areas other than DoA. A usual PvE Hamstorm team consists of 5 Rangers, 2 healers and a Necrostorm (Curses + pet)

Just to clarify, the original Ranger build was called Hamstorm because we took a bunch of warthogs with us into battle. To this day it's still the guild battle cry

Yeah Hamstorm / Strike - As - One is probably the best use of pet skills I have seen to date, mainly because it gets around the pets' main weakness (traveling to the destination). Combine a few SaO / Hamstormers with an MoPer and you have a nasty spike in the works.

I also love SaO but it is bugged: sometimes the pet gets stuck and doesn't attack after the shadowstep.

It does... but SaO has 10 sec recharge and that's 10 sec in which the pet doesn't do shit.
Also the pet unfreezes if I micro lock target.
